The Chevy Chase Land Company Supports Montgomery County Bikeshare
October 1, 2013The Chevy Chase Land Company is proud to be a corporate sponsor of Montgomery County’s new Bikeshare program. As part of the Land Company’s commitment to transit and sustainable development, we have contributed the funds for the installation of two Bikeshare stations at our properties located at Two Wisconsin Circle anf Two Bethesda Metro.
As the only private property owner to sponsor Bikeshare stations in Montgomery County, the Land Company is taking a leadership role in promoting this program because we believe that Bikeshare is an essential component of a safe, effecient and environmentally-friendly transportation network. With over 5 million rides taken in three years, Bikeshare has proven incredibly successful in Washington, DC. In fact, Slate Magazine called it “the best bikesharing program in the United States.” We expect the Bikeshare will quickly become equally popular here in Montgomery County, and the Land Company is excited to be a part of this effort.
