The Chevy Chase Land Company announced the completion of a $25 million dollar renovation to the interior and exterior of 2 Bethesda Metro in downtown Bethesda, as well as the rollout of a new shared amenity program, Ascend by The Chevy Chase Land Company powered by CBRE’s Host platform. An event revealing and celebrating the improvements will be held on April 24, 2024.

“It’s a new day at 2 Bethesda Metro,” said Jason Winans, EVP of Asset Management, The Chevy Chase Land Company. “We have significantly reimagined this property from the relocated entrance to the state-of-the-art amenity pavilion, inclusive of an expansive rooftop deck, 20-person conference room, tenant lounge with pool table, and fitness center. Not to mention our outdoor tiered plaza that is perfect for morning coffee meetings, noon lunches, and evening gatherings.”

The multi-million-dollar renovation has reinvented the 2 Bethesda Metro workplace, transforming the property into a top-tier building with an abundance of best-in-class amenities and cutting-edge technology. Exterior renovations include a new building façade, a relocated entryway off the Metro and parking garage, covered walkway to access brand new amenity pavilion and rooftop patio with open-air fitness space. The interior has been reimagined with a new light- and art-filled lobby, a best-in-class amenity pavilion, a state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga room, locker rooms, and 20-person conference center with tenant lounge, pool table, and kitchen.

“This location, just steps away from Bethesda Row, is unparalleled for both the local employee who wants to walk, bike, or take a short drive to the office, as well as Metro commuters who can enjoy the door-to-door benefit of arriving undercover directly into 2 Bethesda Metro,” said Peter Rosan, Broker, Cushman & Wakefield. “The flexibility of tenant space is a draw to both large and small employers — but the real allure is the amenity package that encompasses the indoor and outdoor environment employees now demand.”

Enhancing access to these amenities is The Chevy Chase Land Company’s branded shared amenity program, Ascend, which provides tenants access to a diverse range of services, events, and networking opportunities across multiple locations in the D.C. metro area. The Ascend model offers an array of physical and social amenities that elevate the workplace environment so tenants can enjoy more time to connect through experiences that used to be offsite-only or require planning.

“As our team has been committed to providing a customized work-life experience for our tenants, we are now launching The Chevy Chase Land Company’s exclusive shared amenity program, Ascend, across our office portfolio. Plugging this into the day-to-day work rhythm empowers employees because it promotes creativity, wellness, and collaboration,” said John Ziegenhein, CEO, The Chevy Chase Land Company. “Every aspect of Ascend spaces are crafted to elevate performance and satisfaction. With our hospitality-driven concierge staff, much of this is managed for our tenants – a win-win for everyone.”

Powered by CBRE’s Host platform and mobile app, the model is managed by an “academy-trained” concierge team that supports the cross-access to the different properties. Tenant “members” of Ascend can pivot to the related properties to utilize amenity spaces and expand their opportunities to connect with colleagues and clients in more varied and healthful venues.

The Cushman & Wakefield team representing The Chevy Chase Land Company includes Peter Rosan, Kevin McGloon, and Katie Gormley. Most recently, the team closed a 16,671 square-foot lease with Regus, a leader in coworking space.
