Giving Back

The Chevy Chase Land Company supports innovative, effective nonprofit partners that work to improve our community’s quality of life. Here are just a few of the special organizations we partner with:

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Foundation

We have worked with this Foundation for a number of years, supporting its work to ensure that every B-CC High School student — regardless of family background and economic means — receives the best possible education and college preparation. Besides annually supporting the Foundation’s programs, we fund The Chevy Chase Land Company’s $5,000 Smart Growth Scholarship, awarded annually to a graduating B-CC High School senior with an intent to pursue a career in architecture, engineering or planning land use and transportation. This scholarship supports the next generation of professionals who will be responsible for planning healthy and environmentally sustainable communities.

Special Olympics of Maryland

For several years at 2 Bethesda Metro, we have hosted and sponsored Special Olympics of Maryland’s Over the Edge event. This event helps provide year-round sports and leadership programs to almost 9,000 Special Olympics Athletes.

The Montgomery County Housing Partnership

This organization provides quality affordable homes for 4,000+ residents, as well as educational programs to empower families and strengthen communities. As part of the Circle of Builders, we’re supporting MHP’s mission to help low-income families attain their next level of stability.

A Wider Circle

A Wider Circle’s mission is to end poverty by taking a holistic approach that integrates on-the-ground services for the creation of stable homes, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization.  In addition to holding food drives to benefit A Wider Circle, our employees volunteer at the center and we make an annual mattress and bed frame donation.

Capital Bikeshare

As part of our commitment to sustainable transportation, we have fully funded the installation of three Capital Bikeshare stations in Bethesda, Friendship Heights and Chevy Chase Lake. To learn more and become a Capital Bikeshare member, visit the organization’s website.

Western Grove Park

The Land Company gave a gift to the Montgomery Parks Foundation to fund the construction of a children’s play space and other improvements at Western Grove Park in Chevy Chase. This two-acre park provides a vibrant community green space in a bustling urban setting.
