The Chevy Chase Land Company supports innovative, effective nonprofit partners that work to improve our community’s quality of life. Here are just a few of the special organizations we partner with:
We have worked with this Foundation for a number of years, supporting its work to ensure that every B-CC High School student — regardless of family background and economic means — receives the best possible education and college preparation. Besides annually support the Foundation’s programs, we fund The Chevy Chase Land Company’s $5,000 Smart Growth Scholarship, awarded annually to a graduating B-CC High School senior with an intent to pursue a career in architecture, engineering or planning land use and transportation. This scholarship supports the next generation of professionals who will be responsible for planning healthy and environmentally sustainable communities.

The Land Company has long supported the work of the Chevy Chase Historical Society. The Society’s exhibits and photo archive capture our community’s unique history and evolution, from its origins as one of the country’s first streetcar suburbs to the vibrant and beautiful community it is today, just outside the nation’s capital.
This organization serves more than 1400 local families by rehabilitating, building and managing affordable properties as well as providing educational programs for its residents, including homework support and preschool.
As a developer of infill, transit-oriented real estate projects, the Chevy Chase Land Company recognizes the importance of walkability, good design and sustainable land use practices. We proudly support the work of the Coalition for Smarter Growth, a dedicated advocate for policies that promote inclusive, connected and environmentally responsible development in the greater Washington, D.C. region.
We recently donated permanent, climate-controlled storage space to Once Upon a Prom, which gives formal attire to young men and women in the D.C. metro region for a memorable prom night. Every spring, they collect thousands of new and gently used dresses, tuxedos, suits and jewelry, and distribute them to area high school students.
As part of our commitment to sustainable transportation, we have fully funded the installation of three Capital Bikeshare stations in Bethesda, Friendship Heights and Chevy Chase Lake. To learn more and become a Capital Bikeshare member, visit the organization’s website.
The Land Company has pledged a gift to the Montgomery Parks Foundation to fund the construction of a children’s play space and other improvements at Western Grove Park in Chevy Chase. When completed, this two-acre park will provide a vibrant community green space in a bustling urban setting.
